Motor racing
Key Motorsport started racing in 1983 when Steve Djelebian competed in the FF1600 series and subsequently joined with Martin Guimont to run in the Export "A" series in the late 80's.
Bruno Bianchi and Steve joined forces to compete in the Canadian FF1600 series to go on to the USFF2000 series in 1995 and 1996. Bruno won many poles and races in FF1600 and had two poles and one win in pro FF2000 as well. In 1997, two new talented drivers joined the team. Seth Taylor, son of former USAC FF2000 star Craig Taylor, who is the owner of Taylor Race Engineering, as well as Robbie McGeehee went on to consistently run in the top five, with a number of second place finishes. Robbie went on to stardom in the IRL where he finished 5th in the 1999 Indy 500.
In 1998 three time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond and Canadian sensation Marc Antoine Camirand joined the team in FF2000 The team went on to many podium finishes. Marc-Antoine went on to win rookie of the year, even though he missed the opening race.
1998 was also a very successful year in the Key Motorsport FF1600 ranks with sensational drivers J.S Bedard and Brendan Kerin consistently leading their competitors. Kerin took two wins and four pole positions. Bedard won the rookie of the Year title and Kerin claiming the coveted Ford of Canada Driver of the year and Castrol Cup award for most laps led.
1999 was an excellent year for Key Motorsport as they led the USFF2000 championship off and on with talented driver Marc-Antoine Camirand who posted wins and track records throughout the season. He absolutely dominated the FF2000 race at Trois-Rivieres, Que. setting fasted practice lap, fasted qualifying lap and went on to win the race handily. He also won at Mosport and the intimidating oval at Phoenix. He went on to finish in second place in the overall championship.
The millennium year saw Key Motorsport enter three talented drivers in the US Formula 2000 Championship. Marc-Antoine Camirand, Irish Driver of the Year, Peter Walsh and the pride of Costa Rica, Daniel Muniz. The team finished with five wins and multiple podium positions.
